Not even the New Paper has got this covered!!!
After work, I picked up Huilong (HL) and headed to Plaza Singapura for my second treatment at Yunnam(YN). Huilong bought us Happy Meals for dinner and we were going through trashy mags in the salon when I thought there was a burning smell in the air. Like plastic burning. My usual paranoid self immediately reckoned that the plastic cover on my head was burning and the steamer was gonna explode with my head in it. Huilong said she couldn't smell anything.
Then YN Girl walked in.
YN Girl: (To another YN Girl) Oi... (whisper whisper)... Got fire outside leh.
BM: (To HL) What did she say?
HL: Eh... She said got fire outside.
BM: Errr... and then??
HL: Dunno.
BM: Can you go check?!!
HL: Me? Got fire I go and check?!
BM: Yah lah! (Points to the head in the steamer)
HL: Ok lor. (Skips off and comes back)
HL: Yah. Got fire outside.
BM: ???? Like that how? Must evacuate or not?
HL: Dunno. She says stay inside.
BM: Hah?? Got fire then we stay inside?!! Win already lor! Shouldn't we be running outside?
HL: Dunno.
BM: (Points to the turban thing on the head) But like go outside damn ugly lor!
YN Girl: (Appears) Eh... I think we need to evacuate.
Just as we were packing, the lights went off.
BM: (To HL) Oi... your bag leh?
HL: The fries still want or not?
BM: Siao ah! Dun want already lah! But take the drinks. (To myself) Later sure need to smoke one.
HL: Oi... did you take your drum book?
BM: Yes. (To myself) Wah!! My car parked on Level 6 leh. Sure 完蛋 already. My monkeys also 完蛋 already.
The fire source was just about 20m away from YN on the 2nd-floor. It was very dark and people were running.
Fwah!! Firemen at Work oh!! Actually we only saw a bit of fire. It's mainly burning above the ceiling board. Suspect bad wiring must have caused it. Wanted to take more pics but this guy came up to me and said that I wasn't supposed to be doing this. Wah lau!! Not me then who?!
The YN girls and customers gathered just outside and sat on the steps to the carpark to witness this amazing incident. Check out the red turban. Confirm YN customer!

Halfway through I had a thought and turned to Huilong.
BM: You know ah. In times of frenzy, there is usually looting.
HL: Oi... I think really can go into Best Denki leh! 真的可以进去 leh!
BM: Wah!! Can get Suann's housewarming present already!!
HL: (Pretends to hold her phone to her ear) "Oi... Suann Suann..."
BM: HAHAHAHAHAH... Ask her what colour she wants!!! Microwave?
HL: I think your car can take Plasma TV. Take 2 lah. One for you also.
Another red turban. Sms-ing some more.
The YN girls. All quite happy. The work is over already!
After a while, the YN girls called the turbans back into the salon and gave us a rinse. So, here's me in wet hair. They apologised for not being able to blowdry my hair coz no electricity mah! So sweet.
And there was light again. Woo hoo!! Men in uniform!!! You know ah, the firemen were making this super loud wheezing sound as they were running around. Apparently that's the sound of them breathing. I think they have a mic under their masks. So cool!!
Oh... police come already lor!
Unsurprisingly, drum class was cancelled. Huilong was quite glad coz she didn't practise. Hahaha!!

i was there at ard 8.30pm and there was still a slight commotion but the exciting part already over..
