Villa Bali + MP + NoNameApplicable

Erm... I had a rather surreal evening.
Do you recognise who this is?

It's Member of Parliament + Parliament Secretary for Community Development, Mr Teo Ser Luck.
He asked to meet up with the Gahmen Bloggers.
And about 10 of us turned up.

In my usual paranoid self, I attempted to suss him out.
Apparently, the post-65 MPs have started their own blogs.

    I is skeptical.
So what are they blogging about??
I am still not very clear. Only time will tell.

Anyway, I don't really give a damn about his 'public' position.
I was more keen to find out more about Teo Ser Luck, the human being.

So, I began to ask him questions like 'how did you meet your wife?', 'how many hours do you sleep these days?', 'why did you decide to take part in politics?', 'which sec school were you from and what ECA were you in?' etc.

Well, he told me that his wife was his only serious and first relationship from Junior College. NYJC to be exact.
And he was from Victoria School, representing his school for about 5 sports. He said he only had 5 hours' sleep these days.
And he joined politics because he was from a poor family, happened to have done well in the private sector, and so decided to give back to society.

    Seriously?
I don't care whether he was giving the politically correct responses to my questions.
This was an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to drill a politician. =)))
So, I went all out to 'tah' with him.
    No shite....
I had 2 chardonnays, and I decided his orange juice wasn't good enough for the night. So, we ordered a happy hour round of beer and I made sure that he drank.

I said: I is Girl. Ah... Ah!!! You'd better bottoms-up!!!
    And he did.
    Hee Hee Hee... =)))

Somehow, we started to talk about sportsmen (coz Mr Teo is a Triathlete), and he happens to know the water polo people.
So I said I used to date one of them.
Then Mr Teo asked whether the relationship lasted for more than 3 months. =_=

    Win oredi.
Never in my life would I have expected to kena suaned by a Member of Parliament.

    Nair mind.
So I decided to turn the tables on him.
I asked him if he was ever a Chiongster.
    FWAH... He was lor...
He mentioned that he used to go to Fire when he was in army leh... And he progressed to niteclubs during his private sector days. =))
    So forthcoming hor??
    Even Blinkymummy was surprised!!!

So hor... I told him that I would like to make him my Politician Beng.
That, of course, got him a little confused.
And he totally ignored my request.

    Nair mind... Who cares, right?!!
I'll observe his blog and see how... =)))

Anyway... his staff officer from MCYS happens to be 'Good Fren's friend from varsity, and he kept asking how 'Good Fren' and I met.
So when I informed everyone at the table that 'Good Fren' met me through my blog, they were all pretty amazed.
    Chey... 少见多怪!=)))
And I guess they even more impressed when they knew that 'Good Fren' had decided to come fetch me from Villa Bali coz he knew I couldn't drive after all that 'tah-ing' with Mr Teo.
    =))))

Anyway, Mr Teo told me that he frequents the Teochew Muair place at Jalan Kayu, and that he would comment on that entry.
Can tell which comment belongs to him?
    =))

Btw, do you recall this person who used to comment on my blog going by the moniker of NoNameApplicable?
I met her tonight at Villa Bali!!
She's working there as part of her internship.
She came up to me and asked to take a pic with me!!
    So cute!!! =)))

    Ok, I is tired oredi...
    Have to work tomorrow.
    Laterz.

I hope that's the last time BM meets up and start corrupting our politicians. Later they'll all become her Bengs (imagine MM Beng, SM Beng, PM Beng, etc) and that's it.. Our Ingrish would include "I is" and her version of Singapore would come to pass (Is that good?).

By all accounts, that was a fantastic encounter. And you did right by not asking him about boring politics and to have drilled behind the PC facade. Woohoo!

Really, I am very interested to know how Ser Luck met his wife. Also, I reas several articles about his love for cycling. You know, between trying to be Lance Armstrong and helping an 80 yr old woman whose son is retarted, where does he find time to be with his family. Shouldn't family be his first priority? He is lucky to have a supportive wife but why have a husband if he is never home? And then he said he is very "lucky" to have 2 obedient children. My Lord, did he reaally say "obedient"?!! Maybe it's a cultural difference because it came across as though he is raising dogs, not kids.

Teo, your son asked you why you are never home. And you told him it's because you have to help other unlucky families. And then you presumed he will understand. For God's sake, help yourself first before your wife divorces you and take your kids with her
