MAMBO JAMBO

Last night was rather bizarre.
Right here, at home, in front of my PC, surfing away when my phone rang:

"昕姐姐!要不要去 Mambo?"

For a moment, it felt really familiar lor! Maciam 10 years ago. And yesh!! It was really a Wednesday night!
I can still see Couz with his OCS/Commando friends standing in a circle on the dance floor, glowing in their white shirts and red collar pins.
So cute!!!

Couz, Cousin-in-Law (CIL) and 2 of his friends were having dinner at the Teochew Restaurant along Amoy Street. The 2 friends were all ready to go to Mambo in their office garb to grab a couple of underage young mambo chicks last night.

I had adult responsibilities to fulfill before I could go relive my young adulthood! I had to go get some cat food and litter! =))

GREAT WORLD CITY

So, 'Good Fren' and I went to Great World City. Bought the cat stuff and had dinner. At the end of dinner, I rang Couz.

BM: Oi... Where are you? I'm at Great World oredi. Let's GOOOOO!!!!
Couz: Eh... Where got people go Mambo so early one?! It's not even 11pm!
BM: Wah lau!! Then what? Last time go Mambo is queue up at 7pm one leh! We are late oredi lah!
Couz: Hahaha... We are going to Cuppage to drink first.
BM: Cuppage? Kushigin ah?
Couz: No lah... Japanese pub...
BM: Huh?? Ok lor... we'll call you when we get there.

THE CRESCENT, CUPPAGE

So we made our way to Cuppage (there was a jam along Kim Seng Road. Dunno why.) and found the 4 of them drinking warm sakae in this uber small and dark pub with about 10 middle-age Japanese men, 3 singing hostesses/waitresses and weird decor plus an air purifier.
Get the picture?

Out of the blue...

Couz' Friend: Oi... Later we go Mambo hor... What do we order ah?
BM: (without hesitation) Tequila Pop lah!!

And so... All got rather excited about Mambo.

ZOUK

After an hour, we left. 'Good Fren' went home and the 5 of us tried to make our way to Zouk.

We had mambo music blasting in the car, and I was doing the 'orh orh orh' thing while Couz's friend was doing the 'Square Room' hand sign.

Couz's Friend: Remember last time when we saw people in office wear in Mambo? We would wonder why these people come office wear?
Couz' Other Friend: Now we know lor... HAHAHAAHA!!
BM: In any case hor... It's easy to pick up xiaomeimeis when you are in office wear. Coz they feel very flattered that mature men fancy them.
Couz's Friends: *did the evil Heh heh heh heh...*

THEN... We got stuck along Kim Seng Road for at least 30 minutes. =_=

The jam was so bad that one of Couz' friend could step out of the car to take a smoke.
The jam was so bad that we exhausted all the mambo music in the car.

When we finally turned into Jiak Kim Street, it came flooding back... Somehow... it really felt like Mambo 10 years ago. There were people everywhere! And there was a ridiculous queue, even for Velvet.
FWAH!!! This is a rare sight.
What did I say about having to come down at 7pm?? MAMBO leh!! You think what?! Buah heow!

So, this bunch of losers in office wear decided to rest at Copthorne's bar. We then took some time to figure out where we ought to be headed next.

BUTTER FACTORY

Apparently someone knew someone who had 5 spaces left on the guest list at Butter Factory.
So we went over.
Spent about 5 minutes deliberating whether to leave the car at Zouk though. (I think older folks deliberate alot. Last time where got think so much one??!)

We were waiting at the Butter Factory door while someone tried to sort out the entry, when CIL said some skinny chick was staring me.
I took a quick look and decided that I didn't know the chick.

Suddenly the skinny chick exclaimed really loudly,"OMIGOD! My cousins are here!", and lunged at us.
KNN... She was our 16 year old cousin in a thin knee-length dress and a push-up bra.

I was shocked.
I have never seen (i) her in this much makeup and (ii) so much of her breasts. She's supposed to be in Primary School and playing with the Barbie I bought for coming in 2nd in class.

Skinny Cousin (SC): Hello!!
BM: What are you doing here?
SC: *said something I couldn't hear*
BM: How old are you?
SC: 16?
BM: 16 years old can come here meh?
SC: CAAAAAAAAAN!! My mother knows. I told her.
BM: =_=
SC: Can you help to sign one more person in? Just one more?

I dunno about other people, but I wasn't sure about this underage chionging business. So I delegated the task to Couz, who took the same stand.
I guess we didn't want to get involved.

I mean... it's quite clear that Couz and I have been chionging and getting ourselves knocked out silly for the past decade, so the act of chionging isn't the problem.
But we were doing that AFTER our freaking 'A' Levels.
At the age of 16 and in May/Jun, one ought to be studying for the prelims.

Yesh... It may come across as 'conservative-thinking' in some progressive context, but it's against our grain.

So we walked away and into Butter Factory, and ordered a dozen Tequila Pops.

Yes... It felt totally weird walking away from family, but we did it. We had to do it.
*pops another Tequila Pop*

I is having a headache today.
=_=

I go make lunch oredi.

Gosh... I didn't know...
All these happening while we were trying to watch 射雕英雄传.

WIN!

Think we'd better move to 桃花岛.
No difference from now.

=_=

btw... random thought...
Was 金庸 referring to Japan when he used the term '桃花岛'?

我不是黄蓉!

'Good Fren' and I have been watching 射雕英雄传, and we are now at the 2nd out of 3rd set of the discs, i.e. 东邪西毒.

Watching the series as an adult is definitely a different experience from watching it as a kid. The appreciation of the storyline is more intense.

'Good Fren' was saying that 黄蓉 reminded him of me, but I thought she was quite a scary character. She doesn't care about propriety (ok, this bit is a little...), but most significantly, she doesn't give a damn about right and wrong, which is the bottom line governing any kind of group living. All she cares is to give 郭靖 what she thinks he needs. Now that is freaking scary.

I mean she came from an island + single-parent family with an evil father, so we ought to understand. BUT STILL!! She is scary.

IMHO, though she's sweet-looking and all, she's scarier than the screechy 梅超风. I wonder which of 金庸's girlfriends inspired the 黄蓉 character!

Personally, I find 郭靖 rather irritating.
He's so damn nice, proper and harmless. He's more like a 'thing' in the story, if you know what I mean. 'Good Fren' says 郭靖's love for 黄蓉 is also more important than many things to him. Erm... Whatever?!

Personally, I think 杨康 is very poor thing on many levels:
  1. His mother had lied to him for 18 years about who his father was.
  2. His mother didn't give a damn whether he wanted to be reunited with his blood father. She just went ahead and cried a lot.
  3. His dilemma was between being a prince's son and being a pauper's son.
  4. His chick, 穆念慈, is his blood father's adopted daughter (Wah Lau!! maciam 80s Jap series!!) and looks rather lousy in the series.
Hence, 杨康 is very poor thing. =))

On a more serious note, while 杨康 is painted as a treacherous character, I think 黄蓉 is comparable.

There was a 'Making Of' disc in the series.
The production team actually surveyed the Hong Konger public to improve their productions.
While some of the effects are definitely cheesy in today's context, I cannot help but to wonder how the production team has dreamed up the effects and want to better themselves with every new series back then.

There is a difference between (1) dreaming up a goal then try to reach it, and (2) taking the benchmark from others then try to reach it via imitation only, and not emulation.
.....................

Watching the 1983 series makes one wonder about the actors. Do not be mistaken. I am not talking about 黄日华.

I am more intrigued by 苗侨伟 aka 杨康.
He was so tall, dark and handsome in the Chinese way in the series.

Found a pic of him on the net.
He looks a little like Leon Lai.

Inevitably, all would sigh at the thought of 翁美玲 being immortalised as 黄蓉 at the age of 26 and no more.

=_=

Let's talk about happier funnier characters.

You know the irritating bunny-tending farmer woman aka 杨康's mother?

FWAH... When she was tending to the injured bunnies and telling people not to kill other people and animals, I was cringing and cringing.
But then, I realised that she looked familiar!!

She's the mother in 真情!!

How come I know??
How come Hong Kong series are so damn popular?!!
I think it's because back then there was nothing else to watch, i.e. not much competition from other recreational activities.

I seriously believe that many of our role models in life (e.g. a self-suffering mother, the evil mother-in-law, the filial son, the manly father etc) were mostly reinforced by these tv series.
It's a pattern-recognition function of our brain, i.e. in a situation where I am supposed to play the role of a mother-in-law and I happen to lack information on what a mother-in-law is, I take on the definition which I can remember best.

Whatever... As long as 'Good Fren' doesn't start behaving like 郭靖!!

I think the and 小龙女 analogy will surface when we get to that series!
姑姑!

=_=

小明和小强

从小,
大家都知道小明和小强是最要好的朋友。

为什么要等到长大了,才告诉他们俩,
不可以在一起呢?

I've been following the debate for and against homosexuality for a while.

It is still not clear to me why different groups of people are against legitimizing homosexuality.
  • Some feel that the act of legitimization will encourage more people to become homosexuals, and of course, they dread that their own sons do so.
  • Some feel that it will increase the population of HIV-positive carriers in Singapore. If so, I wonder if homosexuals are over-represented in the HIV-positive population.
  • Some worry that if more people are homosexual, there will be fewer babies. Erm... I'm not homosexual... I'm not having a baby either?!
  • Some are of the view that homosexuality is against the 'correct' vein of family formation. Erm... I think I'd rather have 2 loving daddies/mummies, than a pair of daddy+mummy or only 1 parent, who in both cases are/is unable to care for me.
It is also not clear to me why some groups are for legitimizing homosexuality.
  • Some quantify the benefits through dollar and cents, i.e. the powerful Pink Dollar.
  • Some highlight that accepting homosexuality is, ostensibly, a marker of being an 'open', 'global' city, and more of that vibrance talk. This suggests a large group of straight people are less happening than that handful of gay people. Win! =_=

Because the abovementioned reasons are so mind-boggling, they all point to one conclusion.
There is a huge misconception of homosexuality amongst people who are either for or against homosexuality.

Not enough time has been taken for all to understand the phenomenon. There are too many urban myths which few people bother to put down before proceeding with nailing the real issues.

In my modest opinion,
  • Homosexuality is not a modern disease, i.e. shaped by current environment only.
  • Homosexuality is not hereditary either. Because if it is purely due to genes, there shouldn't be any offsprings and homosexuality ought to cease to exist after some time.
I believe being homosexual is yet another display of being different from the rest. E.g. Choosing to be goth is also trying to be different. Or choosing to sing to stand out from the crowd.

The Question is: How wrong is it to be different from what others expect you to be?

S.Korea Transsexual Singer Ties the Knot

The 32-year-old male-to-female singer, who goes by the stage name Harisu, married her 27-year-old rapper boyfriend at a ceremony attended by many of the country's top celebrities.

The surgeon who performed Harisu's sex change operation in 1995 acted as the ceremonial head of the wedding. The couple will spend their honeymoon in Koh Samui, Thailand.

"I will become a wife who cooks well and is sweet, sexy and like a friend," Harisu told a news conference before the wedding. "We will adopt two boys and two girls."

Ahhhh.... ACS Boys

I must agree with Jaywalk on his accurate entry on ACS boys.
  • Ang moh buay pai.
  • Ch1nese buay sai.
  • Sian char bor sibeh li hai!!
Quite a few 'enlightened' girlfriends of mine have concluded that having an ACS boy on the arm is indeed a trophy.
(Enlightened = Girls who make careful choices about who they go out with, and are able to make appropriate amount of analysis afterwards.)

ACS boys are charming and entertaining to hang out with.
What sets them apart from the rest is that air of self-confidence.

Please do not be mistaken, this is unlike the chip on the SJI shoulder, which is sometimes an act of overcompensation for certain deeply-rooted insecurities.

In a nutshell, ACS boys are suave.

(Of course, there are some socially dysfunctional ACS boys, but because the overwhelming majority displays such consistent standards of suave-ness, that one cannot deny this fact.
I do agree that to a certain extent, the image of the suave ACS boy does give rise to the 'halo effect', giving anything that uniform an edge over other earthlings.)

However,

I must conclude that if you are looking for a life partner, do go for the true-blue RI boy.

They may be crass unsophisticated (in terms of sense of aesthetics and/or bearer of aesthetics), irritatingly corny and sarcastic, and have limited abilities expressing themselves in the most fluent of English, but I believe they are fundamentally true socialists at heart.

And amidst the efficient Rafflesian factory, if you manage to find one with some sense of humility, that will be and has to be the Perfect partner for a true-blue SNGS chick.

小妹妹们
要记得大姐姐的话哦!

I heart RI boys!!!
WOO HOO!!!

plus i have a soft spot for cat high and maris stella boys.
it's the brother-sister school thing.
purely 'kinship'.

3 is a Crowd

I got some pics off other guests' blogs.
Of me meddling with their vow-saying.
HO HO HO!!

This pic is from Jemej, who happens to read my blog.
She was very funny. She kept trying to educate 'Good Fren' about diamonds during dinner!!
HO HO HO!!!

This pic is from the pro photographer who incidentally has left a comment on the previous entry as 'Shutterbug'.

I was actually taking a video of their vow-saying.
I have to ask for permission before I can upload it.

Couz Gets Married...

Yesterday, 'Good Fren' and I made our way to Seletar Airport for the 1st time in our lives to take a short flight Tioman Island.

There is something about Seletar Airport.
It's really old school.
We were the only 2 Singaporeans on board.

When we saw the plane, we were having some doubts.

I mean... Check out the cloud like gases whisking into the cabin as the plane took off!!

I feel like I was in some WWII movie.
Btw, the green little building is the Departure Hall of Seletar Airport. Very quaint hor?!

I know Malaysia is just next door, but I never expected it to be this near! A couple of minutes after take-off, the little toy plane was still scaling the air when I realised that we were already above Malaysian soil!

And in about 35 minutes, we could see Tioman Island.
It's beautiful. Very serene. Very National Geographic.

And I was thinking about The Beach and its secret commune with WEED-farmers as neighbours.

Somewhere between the hills and a cluster of kampong huts, the pilot found a super short stretch of runway where he landed the toy plane, made a U-turn, and threw open the cabin door.

So, here we are... On Tioman Island.

Someone was looking at 'Good Fren' and I intently. He then called out,"Japamala?"
"Yes! Yes! Japamala!" I replied while 'Good Fren' tried to fill up the Malaysian Arrival/Departure white card.

And we were on our way again. This time on a speedboat scrapping the bumpy blue sea.

After about 15 minutes, we saw Japamala's jetty bar.

It's made of wood and has to be regularly maintained.

Here we go... across the jetty... to Japamala, Tioman Island!

Oredi... Fair Urban Singaporeans had infested the clear blue sea!! =))

Couz booked all the huts, except for 1.
So Japamala had become Singaporean Island for the weekend!!

The same thought always strikes me when I get away from Singapore. I would be looking at these alien trees, huts, sand, sea, breeze, animals... And I think to myself...

"They are here like this everyday.
But tomorrow, I will be back in Singapore, at my desk, punching my keyboard with a furrowed forehead.

Can I actually get away forever?
Is this a dream?
Why do I feel better when I am displaced from my centre?

Why do I lust for this, yet miss what's painfully familiar?"

The view around the hut and our room is fantastic.

The room is very comfortable as well. Complete with an partially outdoorsy shower.
Apparently all rooms are different. And because they attempted to minimise the impact on the natural surroundings, the resort was built into nature, inside clearing out nature to make space for it.
One of the huts had a huge boulder in the middle of the bathroom because it was built around it.
HO HO HO...

After dropping our stuff, 'Good Fren' and I explored the resort a little.

We had wanted to go for a massage, but didn't have time because all guests were meant to gather at the Jetty Bar by 6pm.
So, we ended up taking pics instead. =))

We took this pic by setting the camera on self-timer, then started walking away from it.
It's really quite silly.

It's almost 6pm. We dressed up and made our way to the Jetty Bar for the 'Grand Entry' + some vow-reading. *gasp*

See the blue Tiffany's bag?
We hand-carried that from Singapore.
It contained some very special gifts for the newly-weds. =)))

Finally!!! Here they are!! All happy and grinny!!

This is my favourite pic of them. I think Couz is very happy!!

Faster!!! Open your presents!!!

GAN CHEONG!!!!

What did I get them?
You'll find out at dinner!!
HO HO HO!!

Before we get to dinner, let's have some drinks!!!
WOO HOO!!

The beautiful sunset marks the start of 2 lives together.

I asked Couz whether he felt any different.
He had this constipated look on his face.
Dunno whether he cannot express himself adequately, or that he cannot make out how he feels.
Either way... I thought it was corny.
HO HO HO!!!

As night fell, we made our way to the dining hut.

And I made the bride put on my gift!! =)))

The groom couldn't put on the cuff links I got him, so I didn't take a pic of them. But here's a pic anyway!

I got him green ones though... =)))

And people drank the night away...

.
.
.

The next morning...
In the same hut...
But for breakfast...

Someone asked for Poh Chai Pills!!
JIALAT OREDI!!!

I is good girl. I didn't drink THAT much.

We then took a shitty boat trip to Mersing, where our bus was waiting to take us back to Singapore.
CIL is so kind. She prepared motion sickness pills for the guests. So I took one of the little yellow tabs.

It's shitty enough to have to take a 1.5 hour boat ride.
It's even more shitty when someone onboard yaked the entire way in her high-pitched shriek!
The little yellow tabs prevented motion sickness, but couldn't prepare us for this!!
RRRRROOOOOOAAAAARRRRRRRR!!!

Having gone through such a torture onboard, I was very glad to see land. Had a quick lunch at Mersing and got on our bus back to good old Singapore!!

Mersing cats are damn skinny.

I MISSED MY CATS!!!
=)))

Would have spent one more night at Japamala, if not for the fact that I forgot to make the bookings in advance.
'Good Fren' sulked at me oredi lah!!
=_=

In sum, it had been a great trip (minus the traveling and yakking girl onboard). WOO HOOO!!!

~ The End ~

.........................................

I walked into my colleague's cube the other day and burst out laughing.
He's actually a 朱茵 fan!!

Check out this pic of him!! It's such a fan pic lor!!

It was 1997. He must have been 21 yrs old!!
He was staying in the same hall as me for a while, but I didn't know he was such a HUGE fan of Athena Chu lor!!
I thought he only knew how to study + play basketball.

WAH LAU!!! Cannot stop laughing!!

Check this one out!!
He made it himself leh!! Downloaded a menu of her pics from the Net and got her to sign on the plastic sheet!!

Very considerate indeed!!

So I had to ask him...

Him: *quite a long pause + jammed look* Some questions cannot ask.

On Leave Still Like That

'Good Fren' didn't come home till 10am this morning, and after a quick shower + stuffing his uber muddy clothes in the pail, he went back to work again.
And now... He's so totally asleep.

I was on a day's leave today.
Went to the supermarket and bought stuff to make dinner for 'Good Fren', which he came back, ate and fell asleep immediately after.

I think I had like 30 minutes with him today.
I couldn't even finish updating him about stuff. =_=

He was busy sms-ing on his work phone when I asked him:

BM: Baby! What you doing? Nobody cares about me! *sulks*
GF: I'm very busy. Join the queue. Send me an sms and I will reply when I get to yours.
BM: HAR?!!! *fainted*

Meanwhile, I must have cleared 3 papers at home today. Perhaps there is even time for one more after this entry. =_=

I think Work-Life Balance is so euphemistic that people ought to be ashamed/shamed when using the term.

My only achievement was the home-cooked dinner, especially the 5-hour Dang Gui Chicken soup.

It is now 8.38pm.
I got home about 15 mins ago.
'Good Fren' is not back from work.

He'd better come back soon coz I'm not sure whether the food place would still be in operation!!
....................................

I was bored, so I took out Goffman's "The Presentation of Self in Everyday Life". It has been some time since I last read this book.
It never ceases to amaze me.

I believe it is important to be honest about one's feelings and intentions. This also assumes its translation as behaviour.
However, one is not allowed to do that if one wishes to co-exist with other beings... in Society.

Terms such as Personal Mastery is, really, a orchestration of oneself to the world. Being familiar with what one can do, what the World wants to see from you, and being able to deliver a convincing performance.

Many times, I have witnessed the clumsy ones, trying to pull off stunts to make them look bigger, brighter, more brilliant than they ever can be.
Like a boy child in his father's suit.
Like a girl child with her mother's lipstick. Smeared on her mouth and cheeks.

And I tell myself: I will never be them.

But recently, I think I have been wrong.

Every clumsy attempt is 1 small step closer to Personal Mastery.

No attempt simply means no Personal Mastery.

Pick up that oversized suit. Pick up that flaming red lipstick. Be mocked. Be ridiculed.

And learn the way.

The Iron Man

'Good Fren' tells me that the Superheroes we are so familiar with from Marvel and DC comics are usually a result of genetic mutation or radioactive accidents.

For the purpose of this entry, you may wish to know that while I cook, clean the floor and do the laundry, 'Good Fren' does the dishes, cleans the loos and irons the clothes.
Because he hates the last chore so much, he is now affectionately known as 'THE IRON MAN'.

BM: So, Baby! Tell Me!! How did the Iron Man come about?
GF: Coz he had no clothes to wear to work, so he had to iron some?
BM: HAR? Like that ah? I thought sure got some genetic mutation or radioactivity?
GF: ORRRRHHHH!!! Like that ah... Also can... *short pause*... The Iron Man was originally a scientist working in a radioactive lab. Then one day, an accident happened in the lab. A radioactive explosion... All lab staff had to fight for their lives. The scientist had no choice but to don an Iron Suit, which is actually a life-support system to keep his weak body alive. And so, he became... The Iron Man!!
BM: *SNORE!!!*
GF: Iron Man is very pathetic... Anyone can be him. Just wear the Iron Suit, then become Iron Man oredi!!
BM: HAHA!! *walks past the Iron Man and puts more laundry into the washing machine*

~THE END~
=)))

I wonder what's his story?

Beautiful Island

Had a super long day yesterday.
I'm so damn tired.

Visited quite a few spots at one go.
Sentosa Cove is looking good. Feels like a typical Californian precinct, sans the weather.

But Sentosa is enigmatic.
Imagine... On one end you have super mass market tourist attractions, then on the other, you have luxurious residences.
Conceptually, it's the epitome of eclecticism.

It's like a playground for all, in just 5 square kilometres.

I still maintain that Sentosa (+ Harbourfront area) will get more attention than Marina Bay because it is fundamentally more established and vibrant (diversity).
I just hope traffic doesn't choke its potential.

Only drawback is that Sentosa just isn't tranquil anymore.

Tiring Days

Just back from some work event in Bukit Batok.
It's really faraway!
I'm so tired.

During the reception, someone came up to me and said the following:

"Hey... My wife and I were watching the video of you showering... *very noisy ambient noises*... your cats on Youtube."

FWAH... For a while, I was stunned.
=P

And tomorrow will be a tiring day as well.
Office in the morning, site visit in the afternoon, and lots 'n' lots of hard liquor at night. I think I better bring my own wine. It's better than hard liquor.

I think I am going to fall sick very very soon. =_=
..............................

BTW, I like my new banner very much.
Coz Blinky is so damn adorable.
HE CAN DO NO WRONG!!! =)))

[SSssssshhhhh!! Cannot let Tiger see... Wait he jealous, then sulk the whole day.]

I just dunno how to fill up the entire width with the banner. There is a small gap on the left side. Very irritating!!
=_=

Quit Smoking & Driving

Health Promotion Board invited me to dinner this evening.
I was supposed to get to One Fullerton by 7pm, but I only managed to leave office after 7pm, and got stuck in the crazy downtown traffic for 1 hour!!
RRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRR!!!

It's a strange but comfy little focus group over dinner with 5 smoker girls, and a 'panel' of HPB people + their website designer/ad company.
I was the only person who had quit smoking, and was asked to share my quitting experience.
Am glad that more than a couple of them said they would give nic gum a try. =)))
I guess having a real life example really helps.

We kept joking about them having to take a smoke break once dinner was over.
They said it so many times that I felt like having a cig myself.
HO HO HO!! =)))

Just in case the organisers are reading this, I feel happy that some public servants are taking their jobs seriously. I really appreciate it.

Regardless, I have to highlight that while some females smoke to feel liberated, to rebel, to prove a point, quitting doesn't 'empower' them in the literal sense.
Quitting, for anyone, requires pure determination.
It has nothing to do with gender. Do not confuse the issue.

Anyway, as I was getting out of the office, 'Good Fren' drove past. We waved frantically at each other amidst evening traffic.
We were going in opposite directions this evening.

I was thinking...
I wonder how many times we have driven past each other in the past.
And that if I hadn't blogged and he hadn't read, we would have been yet another car on the busy and lonely roads.

The fact that my blog has changed my life has never ceased to amaze me.
I cannot have this any other way.

Family & Spidey

FWAH... I woke up at 11am on a Tuesday morning!!
It's great!!!

Later, we're gonna meet up with Cousin (Couz) and Cousin-in-Law (CIL) after their ritualistic flat viewing.
Couz and CIL are gonna get officially hitched next Sat. They are gonna sign on the paper!!
OOooohhhhh!!

'Good Fren' and I will be there to witness it, then we will be making our way with them on a little bus to some parts of M'sia for the weekend!!
So exciting!!!
Must take ferry somemore!! I'm sure to puke!! WOO HOO!

This is going to be a nice break for 'Good Fren' and I. The last time we took a break was in Nov 06!
'Good Fren' and I actually have plans to visit the UK in mid-07, but it seems rather impossible to plan for it. =_=
RRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRR!!!

I suspect 'Good Fren' wanna do one of those Korean drama scenes, i.e. bring me to his uni and run around on the lawn.
I didn't say that.

'Good Fren' and I take turns spoiling surprises we prepare for each other.
Just like how he caught me ordering 'surprise tix' for him online. He was sitting beside me when he looked at my screen. We both froze. He then turned away and muttered,"I didn't see anything."

HO HO HO!!!

'Good Fren' had been badgering me to watch Spidey 3 since his pics came out on coke cans.

Seriously, what's so cool about Spidey?
I fell asleep during the Spidey 1. I win.

Someone told me all guys would like Spidey.
Erm... If this statement is true, it's damn pathetic and gay lor.

Spidey is the everyday guy, stuck in a shite job, who happens to acquire superpowers through no merit of his. Kena bitten by spider leh! How mundane is that!!

While other superheroes, such as Superman and Batman, are not so 'imagination/role-playing -friendly', because (i) Superman is not exactly a man, i.e. not human, and (ii) Batman is essentially an Ah Siah Giah, i.e. not everyone has his kind of inheritance to make it as a superhero.

Hence, it is about minimising the dilemma between what one yearns to be, and what one can possibly be. This is the part which I think is pathetic and gay.

And I realise that these superheroes all come from 'broken' families, i.e. parents are dead.
Murder or Accident. Choose one.
That's probably one of the pre-requisites of becoming a superhero.

HO HO HO!!

[Oh... My Mother just rang me.
She asked why I hadn't been blogging for the past 2 days.
She thought I was sick.
My mother is stalking my blog!!!

RRRRRROOOOOOOAAAAAARRRR!!!]

=))

老妈,您放心!
我没生病啦!
