While Blinkymummy is Away – Cambridge Update

Today we have a guest blogger from my MBA class blogging from halfway round the Earth.

His name is Erik Lee and he is from the US.

I suspect he really wants a blog but ain't gonna maintain it.

Anywayz... Here we go...
World's inaugural blog entry by Mr Erik Lee!

.....................................................

Not all of us have Global Consulting Projects (GCP) that take us around the world. While a few teams are enjoying a safari in Kenya, the schnitzel in Germany, the “coffee” of Amsterdam, or the beaches of Australia, most of us are still here in Cambridge. While the unseasonable sun to kick off spring was great to enjoy over the weekend, the clouds and rain were back last night and today.

But ‘Good Fren’ was missing some Chinese cooking.

So he, Deepankar (Indian), and I (your guest writer, Erik, the American) decided to head over to HK Fusion Lounge for some roast duck, bbq pork, shrimp paste vegetables (don’t know the Chinese words) for some good food.

But it was CLOSED (^%#^&$%@)! Still craving something Asian, we went down the street to this Shanghai/French sandwich shop (yes, a strange combo).

We were brought upstairs, it was very loud from the table of twenty year olds who sounded like they were fifty because their voices were so raspy from their smoking.

This was Deepankar’s first try of jellyfish, but it essentially was all white radish, sesame oil with tiny bits of jellyfish.

The Tiger Beer was good though!

‘Good Fren’ was happy to dig into the lamb. Too much roast chicken and rice with Blinkymummy gone.

Over the meal we talked about the Cambridge lessons and the difficulty or lack thereof for some classes, deep economic theory, why Indians and Chinese are disproportionately low in UK schools, and I learned a tidbit about how you have to be married in Singapore if you want to have children (Interesting).

As for the food, it was okay, at least now we know not to go to HK Fusion on a Tuesday. For my next guest blog (if Blinkymummy ever lets me contribute again), I’ll tell you about ‘Good Fren’ and my trip to the lup sup bar.
..................................................................

'Good Fren' taught Erik the term 'lup sup bar' a few weeks ago, and the latter has been using it eversince. =_=

Imagine an ABC saying 'LAP sup barrrrrr' with a perpetual grin on his face. *shakes head*

They were not joking when they said that we will learn a lot from our classmates in the MBA programme.
